To the best of the authors’ last knowledge updated on September 2021, approximately 77 million adults in India were reported to be affected by diabetes, reported by the International Diabetes Federation.1

This is an unusual case, in which some attempt has apparently been made to make sense of the text, referring to knowledge “updated” and attributed to the authors rather than the mysterious first-person singular. Consequently, this article did not show up in my own searches; it was identified by Söderström et al.2
