In a self-contradictory response, the first author stated that “at no point did we use ChatGPT to generate content for our article” and that “this terminology was intended to clarify certain points in our methodology and was not a result of copying or pasting from ChatGPT outputs,” but also that “we made an error in not mentioning that it was ChatGPT, which has a knowledge cutoff of 2021, rather than specifying the GPT model itself.” I find this explanation unconvincing.
